Dry skin is one of the most common problems in February. The cold, wind, and heating disrupt the skin barrier, causing tightness, flaking, and a loss of radiance.

In some cases, sensitivity, redness, or small eczema patches may even appear.

Why does skin get dry in winter?

The skin loses water more easily due to:

  • Decreased natural lipid production

  • Low ambient humidity

  • Showers with water that is too hot

  • Use of harsh cleaning products

When the skin barrier weakens, the skin loses protection and becomes more vulnerable.

How to restore deep hydration

1. Change your usual cream

In winter it's best to opt for more nutritious textures with ingredients such as:

  • Ceramides

  • Hyaluronic acid

  • Glycerin

  • Shea butter

  • Niacinamide

Oily skin also needs hydration, although with more balanced textures.

2. Gentle cleaning

Avoid harsh soaps. Choose syndet or cream cleansers that respect the skin's natural balance.

3. Hydrate your body too

Don't forget to apply body lotion after showering. The legs, arms, and back are usually the most affected areas.

4. Strengthen from within

Supplements with omega 3, antioxidants or collagen can improve skin elasticity and comfort in very dry skin.

Dry skin in winter needs consistency and the right products. Adapting your routine to the season is essential for maintaining a strong and healthy skin barrier.

At the pharmacy we can help you choose the most suitable routine according to your skin type.
